OOC Information:
Name: Eren
Are you over 15? By nearly 10 years
Contact: [plurk.com profile] moveslikejaeger
Current characters in the game: Fuu Hououji (Magic Knight Rayearth), Jacuzzi Splot (Baccano!) and Minato Arisato (Persona 3)

IC Information:
Name: Nia Teppelin/Nadia Terrell
Canon and Medium: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Anime)
Age: While her age is unknown in canon, she's probably preteen/early teen when Simon first meets her, and she lives to probably her early 20s. In game, she's going to be thirteen.
Preincarnation Species: Anti-Spiral messenger...?
Preincarnation Appearance: Aw, cutie
Any Differences: While still being absolutely adorable, Nia will have normal blue eyes and normal, if untamable, light blonde hair. She wears glasses to read the board at school and her hair is almost always in long pigtails because that's how her mom likes it.
Starting Location: Locke City
Preincarnated History: Nia was born and raised in her father, King Lordgenome's, fortress of Teppelin. She was raised much as a doll her entire life and surrounded by Beastmen (beings who are a blend of human and animal DNA) until she asked her father about her existence. She was pretty much immediately removed from Teppelin, boxed up and thrown out.

Not too very long afterward, Simon, still devastated from Kamina's death, came across the box and freed a confused Nia who had never seen a human before. She encouraged him to live and helped him survive an encounter with another Gunmen, before returning to Team Dai-Gurren. She reveals herself, there, to be Lordgenome's daughter and spends some time being distrusted until Adiane, on of her father's Four Generals, shows up and says she was abandoned. Nia is accepted, then, as a member of the team, and helps Simon get back on his metaphorical feet. Over time they become increasingly fond of each other and fall in love. At the end of the first arc, Nia supports Simon in his fight against Lordgenome, and though she tries to save her father from falling when he's killed, she remains unwaveringly loyal toward humanity.

Fast forward seven years, and Simon is the leader of Earth. When she comes to visit him, Simon proposes. Not understanding what he means, Nia rejects his proposal, until it's explained to her by friends what he meant. Soon after she decides to accept, however, she is overtaken by the Anti-Spirals and becomes the Anti-Spiral messenger. She spends most of the rest of this arc as a villain telling Simon to just give up because the world is going to be destroyed. But!! with the power of love!!!, Nia eventually overcomes the Anti-Spirals and assists the team in saving the universe.

And then she dissolves into pixels because when she was transformed into the Anti-Spiral Messenger, she became dependent on the Anti-Spirals to even exist, and the world isn't fair.

Just take this.

Reincarnated History: Nadia is the daughter of an exceedingly powerful politician in Locke City and has known wealth and privilege her entire life. She attended a private all girls elementary school for the elite, but begged her father to go to public middle school so as to make friends. She knew in public school fewer people would know who her father was and fewer people would keep an eye on her. For being a complete airhead (which she is) she is pretty clever.

She has to be, of course. Her father and mother barely notice she exists. Everything she does is for their attention. Her mother told her once she looked good in pigtails and she's worn her hair that way ever since. Every Thursday she helps their cook make dinner just so she can swell with pride if her parents say they like the meal that night. She is active and enthusiastic in school and she almost never gets into trouble so that after student teacher conferences, her father might give her offhanded praise.

She has plenty of friends in school, though how many of them are only her friend for her big birthday party that her father holds for her at the end of every school year (almost a month after her birthday, but warm enough that he can rent out a party at a waterpark) who knows? It could honestly be her bubbly personality that draws people to her. Either way she's almost never alone.

What time she does have to herself she spends reading PG romance novels and watching romcoms. The really, really cheesy kind. She has plenty of friends and lives a privileged life, but Nadia has never experienced love and, oh, what she wouldn't give to find her Prince Charming. He'd whisk her off her feet and he'd take her away and they'd spend a ton of dates together going out to dinner or movies or walks in the park where he'd just be interested in getting to know her. He wouldn't even care that her dad is rich or that she lives in a giant house. He'd show up on his bicycle and she'd ride on his handlebars until they were sixteen of course, then he'd get a car and it'd be old and breaking down but what does that matter? So long as they're together in it. And when they graduated high school, of course he'd ask her to marry him, but they'd have to wait until they both finished college, where he'd get a job in computers or business right off the bat and she'd make sure his tie was tied right every morning in their little flat and they'll be married in the fall of course, early enough that it's still warm but late enough that the leaves are changing colors and--What I'm trying to say is she has it all planned.

This love of romance has spilled into her daily life. On lunch breaks when she's not talking to her friends, she can be found scribbling into her composition book feverishly as if she is writing something of immense importance. And she is. Friendfiction. Most of the time Gay Friendfiction, but any couple she sees and she thinks is cute is subject to this treatment where they find their true loves in each other and go on crazy adventures (normally on a beach or in a forest or climbing a mountain). She keeps these mostly to herself but when someone asks what she's writing she is more than happy to explain.

All in all Nadia is very sheltered, but she makes the best of everything and is having a generally happy life.

First Echo: Nadia was in the business district when the Wise Snake attacked. Though she got out safe, she managed to get an eye full of the giant robots that were in town. This caused her to remember Gurren Lagann--and the fact that the person she loved pilots it.

Preincarnation Personality: Nia Teppelin is an airhead. A sweet, lively, incredibly sincere and faithful airhead. Having had a sheltered life until she was removed from Teppelin, she knew nothing of the world. She didn't even know that there were humans out there like her until being freed by Simon. Nor did she have any idea of the danger when they were attacked by a Gunmen, despite Simon's obvious worry. Later, when the Dai-Gurren is attacked by Adiane, Nia assumes that Adiane will listen to her because, well, others have always listened to her before. She isn't entitled, just... naive. Prior to meeting Simon, her entire life was as a doll. That naivety is a consistent problem for her, leading her to trust others without knowing them (she tells Team Dai-Gurren of her lineage without knowing that her father is their greatest enemy), she offends Yoko greatly when she brings up Kamina, and it doesn't get any better when she grows up, accidentally rejecting Simon's marriage proposal because she takes his figure of speech literally. She isn't stupid, she just doesn't get it. She doesn't get a lot of things.

Which causes Nia to see the world through a strange lens. Everything is new. The dirt beneath her feet, the rain from the sky, the touch of another human's skin. Everything is brand new to her, bathing everything in the light of childlike wonder to the princess. This only adds to her trusting and optimistic nature. Everything is new and everyone is new, leading all her relationships to be endlessly interesting and engaging for her. She enjoys everyone's company immensely, and gets to know them all well. And from getting to know them all well, she becomes quite sympathetic to their problems and concerns, leaving her with a strong desire to be useful to them. She only wants to help with everything Team Dai-Gurren does.

Surprisingly, her naivety and airheadedness is probably the biggest impact life in Teppelin had on Nia. She isn't needlessly cruel to others like the beastmen can be, and she's genuinely caring. Though she's been used her entire life prior to her exile and abandoned by the person who was her whole world, it doesn't leave her bitter or angry. She's only hurt, and that hurt is only more reason for her to try and be happy with her friends. She doesn't have to be angry or bitter because what has hurt her has brought her somewhere she can be happy. Though she's been betrayed, Nia finds that she is able to trust others around her--even when she's faced with impossible odds, like when Yoko fires right at her. And it doesn't let her down. She builds her friendships this way, and Yoko's expert shot was able to barely miss her. Then she let Yoko take scissors to what was left of her hair and that was questionably worse of a judgement call. Instead of snapping at others, she is kind and sweet and does her best to make them happy, even if they've said or done mean things to her in the past.

And it works. Short of one or two moments, Nia brings out the best of everyone she comes into contact with. Her unwavering faith in everyone around her is somewhat contagious and believable enough that those around her want to be as good as she thinks they are. Team Dai-Gurren is desperate for Nia to love them. And their efforts and caring easily win her affection. But she cares for no one more than she cares for Simon.

Simon is pretty much everything to Nia. He is the one she believes in and loves and whose side she stands by through everything she goes through. Even when she is turned into an Anti-Spiral messenger, it can't stop the way she cares for him, and she eventually breaks free of the control they have on her just to help him on his way. And it isn't just that Nia has total faith in Simon, it's that Simon has total and complete faith in Nia. He knows, no matter what she says about bringing despair, she is still Nia inside and won't be able to stay this way forever. And he's right. Nia is defiant to the end and it's only with her unwavering, unstoppable will, that Simon is able to find her again and defeat the Anti-Spirals. Through all of canon, fighting the Four Generals, taking Teppelin, and their time in Kamina City, Nia and Simon love and support each other as best as they possibly can.

On her own, Nia is intensely brave and steadfast. In the anime, Nia can't pilot a Gunmen, and so she's pretty much defenseless in the war against the beastmen. It hardly means she won't join in battle if she gets the chance. She goes as far as to sit in Simon's lap during the fight for Teppelin just to be there, and she stands up to Adiane and Guame on several occasions. The girl's got a heart that can't be stopped. In order to protect her friends, she will do literally anything. And that makes her damn strong. To protect the hearts of those she loves, just like anyone else in Gurren Lagann, she will break through the walls of impossibility and survive. She will do things that no one should be able to do, live through improbable odds, and in the end, make it to at least her wedding just for the chance to see everyone she loves happy one last time.

Any Differences: Nadia is not nearly as sheltered as Nia. She's seen the outside world, she knows other people and she's seen the grass and everything. Her father even let her switch into a public school! Look at that. While he does treat her as somewhat of a prize, too, Nia's father doesn't treat her like a doll. Her curiosity might not have been encouraged, but it was hardly punished either. Since she's had to find out most of her answers on her own, Nia craves learning. Unfortunately (or fortunately) she finds that she craves stories more than she craves textbooks, leading her to have very different views about the world than Nia had. Like that her prince charming will come and sweep her away at some point.

She's a little more clever than Nia, too. She's grown up knowing she's privileged and that kids will want to be her friend just because she has kickass parties. She just chooses to ignore it most of the time in favor of actually getting to know some of them! And she really, really likes them too. Having read a lot of books, she doesn't get caught up on idioms and figures of speech. Her speech, while still incredibly formal, is nowhere near the level of Nia's "hail and well met"s. Except when she writes. Because that's classy. That is how classy people talk right??? right??????

The biggest difference is that there isn't just one person for Nia to place her faith in. Her father isn't ever around, unlike Lordgenome, so she never has a chance to really put faith in him. And she has no one like Simon for her to be attached to. So she puts a lot of her faith in ideas and maybes, unlike Nia, who was very concrete with her ideas of what she was believing in and why.

Abilities: As a normal human being, Nia has no powers. However, as the Anti-Spiral messenger, Nia has a range of pretty unexplained powers, including teleportation through time and space and to create holograms of herself, as well as hack different forms of communication.

Once Nia was transformed into the Anti-Spiral messenger, she was left with sort of virtual body. After that time, she was no longer a human, and could not be hurt in the same way normal humans could. Rather than bleeding, for instance, Nia pixelated. She was also able to survive giant holes in her body when the Anti-Spirals were just using her for information.

And, of course, being a Gurren Lagann character, Nia is packed with willpower. Enough to keep herself alive for a week after she should have completely disappeared.

Roleplay Sample - Third Person:
Nadia knows. She absolutely knows. That there is something interesting going on here. She has never seen, in her entire life, something like what she saw in her mind that day. And either it was her muse striking (though her muse always seemed to be a little more subtle and involve a little less metal) or she had just been hit with the first hint to her true love. She'd never imagined that he'd pilot a giant robot, though.

Her father had kept her inside for ages after she'd come home with dirt on her cheeks and scrapes on her knees, with debris caught in her hair, and all she'd had to think about was the fact that he was out there. Somewhere. And it was very exciting. Now, on her first day back in school, she sticks her tongue out and scribbles feverishly in her journal. She's been writing theories about what on earth the person in the robot would be like.

Tall, of course, and handsome. He had to be. And as she scratched out this and that, she didn't even notice when a classmate was looking over her shoulder at her glittering pink pen marks. For the first time in forever, when someone looked at her writing, Nadia turned a deep shade of pink.

"It's an idea!" She excused the description. "For a story! It will be about giant robots and aliens and--!" She managed to close her notebook before anyone could see anymore, though, not noticing when a few of the nearby boys rolled their eyes. Her friends, though, listened in rapt attention as she detailed the amazing story of the man in the robot punching out an giant alien to save the princess!!! And as they giggled about how silly it sounded, Naida clutched the book to her chest, cradling it as if it was alive and delicate. She tried not to let the laughter get to her, and she's glad she wasn't honest about what had been going through her mind. How could they understand if they'd never had an experience like it before?

Because if she remembered it, there had to be someone out there who loved her--who loved her more than anything in the world. This was how all the great love stories started. With fate! And so her life would clearly have to be a great love story, too, right? And as happy as she was, she couldn't wait to meet him.

Roleplay Sample - Network: [In pink glitter handwriting]

Hail and well met, everyone! It would appear that after many years of writing in my trusted notebook, I have managed to create something magical! Isn't it wonderful? None of my friends will believe me, but I can do all sorts of things that a notebook normally can't do! It must be some kind of magic! Isn't it amazing? And it all began not very long ago... I have had a strange experience, recently, notebook friends, and perhaps that is the source of this new magic I have with words! Not very long ago I was involved in a terrifying incident with a giant pink snake monster and though I was very frightened, I also remembered something amazing! It was a giant machine and it was red and I knew that it was being controlled by someone inside of it! And though I can't remember his face, I remember that I loved him like no other!

Perhaps I will be able to find him on here. It would be wonderful to find your true love through such magical means, wouldn't it?

Any Questions? I do have a note! Being so young, I'm basing Nadia's personality off of pre-timeskip Nia. I just wanted to let you guys in on that one since there's
