Personality:
Nia Teppelin is an airhead. A sweet, lively, incredibly sincere and faithful airhead. Having had a sheltered life until she was removed from Teppelin, she knew nothing of the world. She didn't even know that there were humans out there like her until being freed by Simon. Nor did she have any idea of the danger when they were attacked by a Gunmen, despite Simon's obvious worry. Later, when the Dai-Gurren is attacked by Adiane, Nia assumes that Adiane will listen to her because, well, others have always listened to her before. She isn't entitled, just... naive. Prior to meeting Simon, her entire life was as a doll. That naivety is a consistent problem for her, leading her to trust others without knowing them (she tells Team Dai-Gurren of her lineage without knowing that her father is their greatest enemy), she offends Yoko greatly when she brings up Kamina, and it doesn't get any better when she grows up, accidentally rejecting Simon's marriage proposal because she takes his figure of speech literally. She isn't stupid, she just doesn't get it. She doesn't get a lot of things.
Which causes Nia to see the world through a strange lens. Everything is new. The dirt beneath her feet, the rain from the sky, the touch of another human's skin. Everything is brand new to her, bathing everything in the light of childlike wonder to the princess. This only adds to her trusting and optimistic nature. Everything is new and everyone is new, leading all her relationships to be endlessly interesting and engaging for her. She enjoys everyone's company immensely, and gets to know them all well. And from getting to know them all well, she becomes quite sympathetic to their problems and concerns, leaving her with a strong desire to be useful to them. She only wants to help with everything Team Dai-Gurren does.
Surprisingly, her naivety and airheadedness is probably the biggest impact life in Teppelin had on Nia. She isn't needlessly cruel to others like the beastmen can be, and she's genuinely caring. Though she's been used her entire life prior to her exile and abandoned by the person who was her whole world, it doesn't leave her bitter or angry. She's only hurt, and that hurt is only more reason for her to try and be happy with her friends. She doesn't have to be angry or bitter because what has hurt her has brought her somewhere she can be happy. Though she's been betrayed, Nia finds that she is able to trust others around her--even when she's faced with impossible odds, like when Yoko fires right at her. And it doesn't let her down. She builds her friendships this way, and Yoko's expert shot was able to barely miss her. Then she let Yoko take scissors to what was left of her hair and that was questionably worse of a judgement call. Instead of snapping at others, she is kind and sweet and does her best to make them happy, even if they've said or done mean things to her in the past.
And it works. Short of one or two moments, Nia brings out the best of everyone she comes into contact with. Her unwavering faith in everyone around her is somewhat contagious and believable enough that those around her want to be as good as she thinks they are. Team Dai-Gurren is desperate for Nia to love them. And their efforts and caring easily win her affection. But she cares for no one more than she cares for Simon.
Simon is pretty much everything to Nia. He is the one she believes in and loves and whose side she stands by through everything she goes through. Even when she is turned into an Anti-Spiral messenger, it can't stop the way she cares for him, and she eventually breaks free of the control they have on her just to help him on his way. And it isn't just that Nia has total faith in Simon, it's that Simon has total and complete faith in Nia. He knows, no matter what she says about bringing despair, she is still Nia inside and won't be able to stay this way forever. And he's right. Nia is defiant to the end and it's only with her unwavering, unstoppable will, that Simon is able to find her again and defeat the Anti-Spirals. Through all of canon, fighting the Four Generals, taking Teppelin, and their time in Kamina City, Nia and Simon love and support each other as best as they possibly can.
On her own, Nia is intensely brave and steadfast. In the anime, Nia can't pilot a Gunmen, and so she's pretty much defenseless in the war against the beastmen. It hardly means she won't join in battle if she gets the chance. She goes as far as to sit in Simon's lap during the fight for Teppelin just to be there, and she stands up to Adiane and Guame on several occasions. The girl's got a heart that can't be stopped. In order to protect her friends, she will do literally anything. And that makes her damn strong. To protect the hearts of those she loves, just like anyone else in Gurren Lagann, she will break through the walls of impossibility and survive. She will do things that no one should be able to do, live through improbable odds, and in the end, make it to at least her wedding just for the chance to see everyone she loves happy one last time.

Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:
I'm going to clarify that at the point I am taking her from , Nia does not have any powers. I will never update Nia to a place where she will have powers, if I do there is permission to slap me. She is startlingly mundane outside of being a princess.
As for her strengths and weaknesses!
Strengths
While skilled at sports and resilient, Nia Teppelin doesn't have a lot of physical strengths outside of her cute physical appearance being incredibly endearing to others. Still, she's been seen to take some hard blows and she's in good shape and able to move fairly decently.
Nia also has intense emotional and mental fortitude and deep seated optimism. Over the course of the series, she learns terrible things about her father and their relationship--from the fact that he has kept everyone like her prisoner underground and ordering their murder when they escape, to learning that he threw her away like a doll when she came to question her existence. Everyone Nia trusted and loved prior to her disposal suddenly treated her like she was trash, everyone she met after distrusted her for a period. But Nia trucked on, barely losing her compassionate and sweet personality for even a moment. She didn't let it change her or her loving heart for a single moment.
Nia is very brave and willful for her situation. Despite being thrust into a war she knew nothing about not long ago, she chooses to fight with Simon and his friends, or at least to aid them as best as she can. She joins Simon in Lagann in the final battle against her father, and WAY WAY LATER, defies even the Anti-Spirals as they are slowly draining her away to nothing. This tiny little naive girl has balls of steel.
She is caring and compassionate to a fault, loving Simon despite what anyone else says about him, and wanting to do everything she can to help the team. Even though her father threw her away, she's still hurt by his death. Her introduction was a strong indicator of this, when Simon offered to fight so she could run. She still considered his feelings, and did all the way through canon.
Like everyone in Gurren Lagann, Nia is also stupidly willful. The driving force in Gurren Lagann is called Spiral Energy and it's essentially made up of CRAZY INSANE POWER OF WILL. Much like everyone else, Nia's willpower is off the charts.
Weaknesses
Nia is far too trusting and far too naive. She is willing to trust just about anyone right off the bat, and even if she's woken up in a strange situation with people the likes of which she has never seen before. Kittan threatens her and she reacts with gratitude that he has given her so much information. Even though her situation looks grim from the start, Nia maintains an attitude of the war being a misunderstanding, having no idea she was discarded.
Nia isn't stupid, but she's very sheltered and unaware of things. She had never been outside prior to meeting Simon, she had never seen a human prior to meeting Simon... she didn't even know what a human was. She can look danger in the eye and have no idea it's dangerous, and she does in her first introduction, looking at a gunmen and being like "what's that :D?". It's possibly her biggest weakness. She will have no instincts to avoid any sort of trouble and will likely walk right into it.
Due to her naivety and sheltered life, Nia has a terrible way of making awful social mistakes, offending Yoko early in the series, not understanding why Simon is so upset by Kamina's death, and asking questions that could probably offend people who weren't from Gurren Lagann.
She has no skills in fighting, despite being smack dab in the middle of a war. As mentioned before, she's also physically very small and her hair is the kind of hair that will probably get caught on everything, her body just isn't made for surviving easily.
Don't let her cook. Just trust me on that one she's deadly.

Nia stares at the Foodland market, head tilted quizzically to one side. Here, she knows, is where she can get a vast majority of her necessary supplies, but she has never seen a structure quite like it before. How can all the supplies that everyone needs fit into such a place? She supposes that there's a system to it all, but with everyone being so different, she doesn't understand how it can possibly stock for everyone. After all, there were humans here, and aliens (even though she is not entirely sure what an alien is, only that it is not a beastman, nor a human, and that it does not live on the surface), and all sorts of creatures that need supplies. Wouldn't it eventually run out? It isn't like Teppelin where beastmen brought her father things, or the Dai Gurren, which could move and find more. She has never been wanting in her life, so this new building and the idea that it could consistently care for an entire population is very interesting and very confusing. Perhaps it was often restocked, or maybe the products necessary grew inside somehow. She will be sure to find someone to ask later.
Taking a few steps forward so she's inside, however, she's awed by what it does have. It isn't neat or clean, but she's used to that from what little she's seen of the Dai Gurren. It could be a normal thing. Or, perhaps, this place had recently been involved in part of a war as well. She should ask someone. The flickering lights are new... perhaps they need to be fixed. Or, she thinks, it could be a strange kind of ambiance, couldn't it? There was so much inside, she couldn't help but marvel at it. Perhaps a place like this could supply an entire population for a very long time. In the face of such supplies, she also realizes she has no idea what, exactly, she needs for supplies. It is important to find food, and some clothing, but when she examines what clothes she can find,s he has no idea what the sizes mean. What size would she be in? None of the clothes are anything like what she's used to. She will have to find someone to ask later.
She doesn't know what any of the food is, either. She hasn't heard of any of the vegetables, or the fruits. And the junk food is something that actually makes her kind of nervous--she's never seen anything like that. It isn't very long before she realizes her mistake in coming here alone. She wishes Simon or Yoko or Kittan were here to help her. After all, they would surely understand the situation better than she would. And they would be able to help her as well.
When she leaves Foodland, her hands are empty. She's hungry and she doesn't know where to even start looking to care for herself. She's never done it before... Perhaps, she thinks, she will keep an eye out here and see who else comes, and ask them for their advice. It can't be long, after all, can it?
